Founder of the impressionism, French painter Oscar-Claude Monet (1840-1926) is renown as the most prolific practitioner of the movement’s philosophy, the one who explored the most the “au plain air” painting.

In fact his painting Impression, soleil levant  gave the name to the movement.

We would like to highlight two exhibitions that highlight different aspects of his artistic exploration: the first one, the exhibition presented in Canada under the title A bridge to Modernity and another one hosted in 2013 at the Castello di Pavia in Italy, Monet au coeur de la vie.
