Jesús Soto (1923 – 2005) was a main figure in the Venezuelan optical and kinetic art. He is particularly known by his creations called Penetrables, interactive sculptures consisting of square arrays of thin, dangling tubes through which observers can walk. and interact with.
Many of his installations are permanent artworks in buildings such as the Teresa Carreño Theater or in public areas like the Soto Sphere.
He is buried in Paris, where he died, in the Cimitère du Montparnasse.
