Maria Boneo was born in Belgrado.Yugoslavia, in 1959. Since 1968 she has been living in Argentina.
In 1968 she began studying at the "The National School of Art". It was then when she manifested her passion towards sculpture, practicing this discipline far three years.
Then she started attending professor Aurelio Macchi’s workshop with whom she expanded her knowledge during four years.
Back in the year 2000 she attended the workshop lectured by the sculptor Leo Vinci, with the aim of improving wood and alabaster carvings.
In 2005 she attended Statuaria Art School of Sculpture, Carrara Italia. Back in Argentina, she assisted to Beatriz Soto Garda workshop focusing her work in marble.

This sculpture was donated to the "Make-a-Wish Foundation"

From January 3 to February 28  the artist presents her sculptures in the "Yoo Punta Del Este” building, ( stop number 8 Roosevelt Avenue), a new project by the famous disegner Philippe Starck. The exhibition features four Boneo’s sculptures: En Hora, Quiebre, La Gota and Por dentro

2002: Salón Pequeño Formato, "Arte Siglo XXI". First Sculpture Award, Museo Penitenciario Antonio Balvé.

2003: Second Prize Salón Grabado y Escultura "Ernesto de la Càrcova", Asociación Estimulo de Bellas Artes.

2005: Solo exhibition Hotel Sofitel, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

2006: Group exhibition. Homage to the Uruguayian Guillermo Riva-Zucchelli, selected for "Feria Arte Clàsica".

2007: International Florence Biennale- Sixth Edition, 1 to 9 December 2007. Fortezza da Basso.
