I am curious. I am very curious.
In the center of my interest is the human being.
It is not enough for me just to look on the outside. No. I want to go inside. I want to see, hear, understand, feel what people think, love, hate, perceive. To know about what they get influenced by; get moved by. I want to understand their world….
So, my sculptures are not supposed to be just a mirror of what I see. They are the expression of my experiences, thoughts, ideas and observations and a distortion of reality because of an emotional effect. With my sculptures I want people to get affected. I want that something inside of them resounds and let their imaginative forces create their own vision.
So in the end my art is some kind of cycle. I collect all sorts of information about me and the people around me, digest it all and give it back in my sculptures.

Biography

I was born in Wolfsberg, a small town in Carinthia, Austria, as daughter of a Spanish family of artists (among others: mother: Marga Sacher-Santana) and Austrian family of doctors (4th generation). In 1988 I moved to Vienna, where I studied medicine at the University of Vienna and sculpting with Professor Karl Sukopp. After having finished various professional trainings which brought me also to Ulm, Germany for four years and after having travelled to many countries throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia and Africa, most often for several months, I moved back to Austria in 2004. I am married and I am a mother of two, a boy and a girl. Now I live in the south of Austria, in Grafenstein, in a 130 year old farmhouse. There I can devote my whole creative energy to transforming my experiences, thoughts, ideas and observations into sculptures.
