We should not speak about the color, it has to be seen
Marta Roldán
MARTA ROLDAN CADAVID was born in Medellín, Colombia in 1960. She started her art studies in childhood at several academies and with several well-known local artists, showing a special sensibility for color. After her graduation in architecture from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, in 1987, she traveled to Spain to continue her art studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and with some contemporary artists, having always pursuing art as an avocation not as a profession. When she returned to Colombia she worked with different techniques such as palette knife on wood. In her paintings she gives expression to her personal experiences, with outstanding originality. In her paintings vital and joyful colors, abstract forms and interesting textures make visible what we imagine, and give her work a special expression that allows the spectator to feel that “Einfuhlung” or empathy that all artists want to communicate.
