Centered on two masterpieces by Chardin and Boucher (A Lady taking Tea from the Hunterian and the Frick Collection’s A Lady on her Day Bed), this exhibition investigates the great importance of domestic scenes in mid 18th-century French painting. Besides further paintings by Boucher and Chardin there are also works by Hogarth and Lancret.
