Surtout pas des principes! Charley Toorop  |   Contemporary Art, 09 27 2008 - 01 18 2009 Charley Toorop (1891-1955) is regarded as the most prominent female Dutch artist of the 20th century. She created an oeuvre that is strong-willed, self-aware and socially committed. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen presents a large-scale retrospective of her work, displaying 120 paintings, among which sixteen self-portraits. Sgraffito in 3D  |  Design, 10 25 2008 - 01 4 2009 For the first time museum objects have been subjected to 3D industrial reconstruction techniques. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen presents the wonderful Van Beuningen-De Vriese collection of sgraffito earthenware in a truly novel fashion. The artist Joachim Rotteveel has developed a new manner of scanning, archiving and making 3D reconstructions of the earthenware. The exhibition provides broad access to the archaeological collection in a spectacular way. Sgraffito in 3D will be shown in the museum's renewed entrance area, which is freely accessible to everyone.
