The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) de Chile, inaugurated in 1947, depends of the Universidad de Chile and its two sites are located in two historical buildings in the Parque Forestal de Santiago. The museum’s collection consists of almost 2 thousand chilean and international works.

The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) of Santiago de Chile was founded in 1880 and, in 1910 it was transferred in the current building, the Palacio de Bellas Artes. It was designed by the Chilean Emile Jecquier in the neoclassical style with Art Nouveau details and is situated in the Parque Forestal of Santiago near Mapocho river. The museum’s collection consists of chilean and international works from the XV century to to the present day.
