1593 was born Jacob Jordaens, one of the three Flemish Baroque painters, along with Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, to bring prestige to the Antwerp school of painting.
Throughout the year, the Casino Luxembourg Forum d’art contemporain organises contemporary art exhibitions, focusing on the diversity and complexity of current artistic approaches and attitudes. As the twelve rooms ("white cubes") can be used independently, several exhibitions can take place simultaneously.
