Old wooden ship found at Ground Zero
The remnants of a wooden ship likely dated to the 18 century were found at Ground Zero. A 32-foot piece of the vessel was discovered; it was also found a 100-pound iron anchor. Archaeologists said the vessel was probably used along with other debris to fill in land to extend New York City into the Hudson River.
