In Guatemala, king maya's tomb diiscovered
Iin Guatemala, beneath the "El Diablo" pyramid in the city of Zotz, a group of archeologists under the directions of Stephen Houston (Brown University) have discovered a Mayan king's tomb. The burial chamber belongs to "Chak", who ruled at the "bat city" (that is the meaning of Zots) between 340 and 400 AD. Also in the tomb were found the remains of 6 children probably sacrificed in his honor, other than textiles, wood carvings, ceramics and many other objects.
