Delacroix and his legacy: Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Kandinsky

Next month, National Gallery will present an exhibition that surveys Delacroix dynamic career and assess for the first time the influence he exerted for five decades following his death until the early years of the 20thcentury. He was the most famous and controversial French painter of the first half of the 19th century and one of the first modern masters.

We all paint in Delacroix’s language“, said Cézanne. In this short video, you will see some works by Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Kandinsky, that will allow to establish similarities and confront styles and techniques.
