Founder of the impressionism, French painter Oscar-Claude Monet was born in 1840.

Known as the most prolific practitioner of the movement’s philosophy, he was the one who explores the most the “au plain air” painting. His painting Impression, soleil levant  gave the name to the movement.

We would like to highlight two exhibitions that explore different aspects of his artistic exploration: the first one, an ongoing exhibition in Canada under the title A bridge to Modernity and another one hosted in 2013 at the Castello di Pavia in Italy, named Monet au coeur de la vie.

Also, we highlight the more recent exhibition Monet, a bridge to modernity.
