Spanish painter Juan Gris died a day like today in 1927

Spanish painter José Victoriano González-Pérez, known as Juan Gris (1887 – 1927), lived and worked in France most of his life, exploring Cubism.

He became friend with Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, Fernand Léger and for many years, with Pablo Picasso.

Juan Gris remained loyal to the genre chosen at the beginning of his career until the end of his life,  painting with bright harmonious colors.
